I notice the last couple of days that there are only two Scotrail HST Diagrams is this just because the timetable has been reduced or other causes? Don't know but a swift look at today's RTT shows at least 5 in action, so better. It's a fair few days since ASLEF reached agreement over the pay dispute but no sign yet of its member's vote which, if positive, will probably necessitate more HSTs out. IU |

16012FH said: I’ve just returned from 10 days in Scotland - a week of which was spent staying in a cottage with an excellent view over the Stirling - Perth line near Blackford. There have been plenty of HSTs out and about including a number of 2+5 sets but there is no guarantee it seems that a service worked by an HST one day will not be a unit the next or indeed vice versa. Unit diagrams can be HST worked though there is probably a tendency for fewer HSTs to be used on Saturdays. Best advice is to keep an eye at all times on RTT to see what’s allocated to what on each day - but beware this can change last minute (as I discovered yesterday when a train from Aberdeen which had been booked 2+5 HST when I checked at breakfast time had changed to a 170 by the time I got to Aberdeen 3 hours later - unrelated to the chaos caused from early afternoon yesterday by a line side fire between Greenhill Jn and Carmuirs Jn which blocked that route until almost close of service) FC |
