From the 26th May to the 8th September a 0722 Basingstoke to Corfe Castle via Westbury and Weymouth is scheduled to run every Saturday on loco-hauled timings. It will make three Wareham to Corfe Castle runs before returning the same way to Basingstoke. See RTT and OTT for timings.

Further from SW Trains:
A brand new partnership between local train operator South Western Railway (SWR) and the Swanage Railway (SR) will connect the region to Corfe Castle with 6 new trains each Saturday during the summer (26th May to 8th September inclusive)
Direct trains will run to Corfe Castle from Weymouth, Dorchester, Moreton and Wool (£5 day return) and from Salisbury, Tisbury, Gillingham, Templecombe, Sherborne, Yeovil and Maiden Newton (£10 day return).
First regular timetabled service from Corfe Castle to London Waterloo since 1969
Corfe Castle will be fully connected to the national rail network with new simple fares.
Poole, Branksome, Parkstone and Bournemouth passengers can connect with a simple change at Wareham to spend a day out in Corfe Castle
Swanage Railway to offer discounted steam train fares too for just £10 for SWR passengers. Picture shows 2car 158 at Corfe Castle

Service on June 16th - Posted: June 17, 2018 - 6:32 PM Quote and reply
Up early to try the SWR service.
It starts from Basingstoke at 07:22.
8 car formation formed by 158888-159014-159102.
159102 was detached at Salisbury.
After a planned 27 minute stop at Gillingham and 17 minute stop at Yeovil Junction (time for everyone to jump off and get some refreshments).
The train was full from Yeovil to Weymouth, where the drinkers and bucket&spade brigade detrained.
158888 was detached and it formed a return working to Yeovil Junction.
More passengers were picked up on the way to Wareham, where it was about 80% occupied.
The return was equally busy to Weymouth, where 158888 was attached, and the bucket and spade brigade rejoined.
Only an 8 minute stop at Yeovil Junction on the return, but refreshment room shut.
We were a few minutes late into Salisbury (due to a late running GWR service), and 158888 was detached.

159014 continued to Waterloo, although I bailed out at Basingstoke.

The whole service was with in a couple of minutes of time for the whole day.

Tiring but interesting.
