The first saturday workings of Class 319 on Liverpool - Manchester Airport services occurred on 18 April 2015. According to local sources, a limited working on Liverpool - Wigan North Western services should also have occurred but was deferred due to a technical problem.

319 training - Posted: April 21, 2015 - 9:53 PM Quote and reply
Thameslink 319 used Preston to Carnforth today presumably for driver training, although some trips were cancelled late morning due to a fatality at Garstang.

For members wanting to time Class 319s in the North West, note that there are still insufficient units to operate the full service. Also, there have been some teething problems with both the 319s and the "overhead", leading to some service cancellations, or dmu substitutions.

Liverpool Lime St / Warrington Bank Quay & Liverpool / Blackpool North remain entirely booked for dmus.

A few Liverpool / Manchester Victoria services also remain booked to be worked by dmus.

There is a single Class 319 passenger working north of Wigan - the 18:00 Liverpool to Preston ; the unit returns ecs to Wigan on the following day.

I hope to offer a performance review to Milepost later this year, but initial impressions are that the "low speed" acceleration is slower than that of Sprinters, and it is only for start to stop times exceeding 3 minutes that one experiences significant reductions in journey times.
