A ROAD closure timetable has been released ahead of major roadworks on the Stromeferry bypass – and motorists have been urged to study its time slots closely so they don’t get caught out when work begins this September.
Work on the rock face to the west of the rockfall shelter will get underway on September 3 and could last for up to three months.
During that period a road-rail bypass system will be in force on the A890, with vehicles directed onto a temporary road surface on the neighbouring rail track (Kyle Line) to get around the works.
But this means there will be frequent closures each day to enable trains to pass through.
