I recently travelled on this Airport link, which puts Heathrow Express in the shade with its MPS of 205 km/h. Has anyone else experienced this service, and does anyone have any distance/gradient info? I was able to get some km distances from an article on the web, but any other input would be useful.

No help really. The Swedish Network Statement 2012 contains general gradient data but the Infrastructure- Trafikverket- website is mostly in Swedish It may contain a Sectional Appendix type entry but it defeated me although one likely link was password protected. Hope someone else knows.

Alan

I travelled on this service in August 2004. It did not then reach speeds as high as 205 km.h. I still think in terms of mph and we ran most of the way at 101/102 equating to 164 km.h I prepared a rough log with estimated distances and a ;proviso these were liable to change if confirmed details became available. My estimate for Arlanda Flygplats was 38.5 km from Stockholm Central.

Out of interest, times were 18m 10s Arlanda to Stockholm and 17m 52s back.

I finally got round to following up Ian's hint and managed to get something out of the Trafikverket - as follows:
Karlborg 2.10
Solna 5.175
Ulriksdal 7.09
Helenelund 10.90
Sollentuna 13.20
Haggvik 14.68
Norrviken 17.05
Rotebro 19.045
Upplands Vasby 24.38
Skavstaby *
Tunnel in 36.845?
Arlanda Sth 38.743
Arlanda T5 39.31
* Distances for Skavstaby are ambiguous, perhaps on account of its junction status: 27.35 or 27.685?
I have to say that with these distances the average speeds in my logs are all over the place - perhaps because these are mostly stations with long platforms and no clear centre or building;

From Ian,
Alan have had a quick look at Google Earth and have been able to cobble (is there a French word for this?) something together although the Airport area has cloud around and, presumably, the last part is underground:
Stockholm Central 0.00?
Karlborg W Cpy 2.10 (used as start reference
Solna N Cpy 5.13
Ulriksdal S Cpy 6.89
Helenelund S Cpy 10.82
Sollentuna S Cpy 13.08
Haggvik cen 14.93
Norrviken cen 16.86
Rotebro cen 18.68
Upplands Vasby sfb 24.09
Skavstaby *
Tunnel in 31.26 to 31.67
Trail ends in cloud

So not too much difference, hope it helps
