Appreciate there was the promo trip to Exeter last Fri but today's 14.00 PNZ PAD is the first through run.

Quite a crowd at PNZ to sample the new train. Off 1/2 min late, coach 9 of 10 as per last week's HST.

PNZ SER 8m 13s 73 max (last week's HST 8m 08s 78 max)

SER CBN 10m 10s (9m 15s) both 61 max.

CBN RED 5m 20s (5m 28s). Lost 2 mins at Redruth stop.

RED TRU 11m 13s (10m 32s).

TRU SAU 15m 42s (15m 00s). Speed fell to 60 on climb to Grampound Rd (HST 66).

SAU PAR 6m 20s (5m 45s). Another slow approach.

PAR BOD 10m 45s (9m 44s). Only 46 on climb to Treverrin Tnl wheteas HST did 65. Recovery from Lostwithiel barely better than Clan Line in June.

BOD LSK 11m 47s (11m 16s). Doublebois 7m 40s 54 mph. (7m 13s 55 mph). Engine under me cut out on arrival, now restarted. Aircon has 2 settings. Too cold and too hot.

LSK PLY 23m 20s (23m 28s). 7.5 mins late on arrival but booked stop 6 mins so should regain a little.

PLY TOT 25m 30s (25m 14s). Out of Mutley Tnl in 1m 36s (2m 06s) Tav Jn 4m 06s (4m 30s), Hemerdon 7m 38s (7m 48s) Wrangaton 14m 57s (14m 58s). Min 55 on Hemerdon whereas HST had to be eased for the 60.

TOT NTA 11m 02s (10m 53s). Into Dainton Tnl 6m 12s 49 mph after 47 minm (6m 25s 54 mph after 53 minm). So good starts but slow stops.

NTA EXD 18m 44s (18m 16s). 17s ahead of HST thro Teignmouth.

EXD TVP 12m 49s (13m 29s). Some 100 maxes after Hele. HST slowed for TSR after Cowley Bri that had been taken off.

TVP TAU 12m 07s (11m 33s). Whiteball OB 4m 00s 68mph (3m 55s 79mph). Into Tnl 72 mph (83).

TAU RDG 77m 12s (77m 22s). IET didn't have 70 TSR west of Castle Cary to contend with so topped Brewham at 88 from 90 at Sheep House. Checked at Heywood Rd Jn by 16.33 PAD EXD going into WSB and got up to 104 before Lavington 90 PSR. As we eased engine under my coach cut out and restarted couple of times. Speed fell off to 82 and rallied to 84 at Patney and 85 at Woodborough. Stone train in UGL had been there a while according to RTT. Eased before Savernake, passed at only 76. Apart from 107 thro Newbury nothing else to report.

RDG PAD 25m 16s on electric. (HST severely checked 30m 59s). Twyford 3m 33s at 124 mph having already eased...
Caught up 387 ECS crossing to relief at Slough West then a HEX. But RIGHT TIME arrival at PAD!

Now on 802s forming the 20.03 PAD PLY as far as RDG, but lots of traffic ahead so no chance of a quick run. Over and out.
