Even worse, is that the restriction is thought to include use of the West Torkshire Day Rover and the Greater Manchester Day Ranger in the afternoon peak. So far, it is understood that the Wayfarer ticket is unaffected, nor are the various Rover & "Regional" Day Rangers. It is understood that DfT is responsible for these changes. BP |

Peak hour fares will apply in the evening peak between 1601 & 1829 from 8th September, 2014 in South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire & Greater Manchester areas as well as the following lines outside the PTE areas - Manchester to Earlstown/Warrington (both routes), to Buxton, Burscough Bridge, Buxton & Alderley Edge. Leeds to Skipton, Harrogate & Knarborough Newcastle to Hexham has a similar restriction but the times are 1601-1759, all the restrictions apply Monday to Friday and apply to all train companies trains all the affected lines. As far as Metro day Rovers there has been no announcement and I have emailed them for clarification. |

Not accurate as to times and routes. The Metro website confirms that day rovers will not be available during the Monday - Friday evening peak, see: https://www.wymetro.com/news/Changes_to_Evening_Peak_Restrictions_on_Northern_Trains/ The Travel for Greater Manchester & Travel South Yorkshire websites do not currently show any changes to day ticket validities. |
