Railway Performance Society Class 24 and 25 logs published in Modern Locomotives Illustrated

The Railway Performance Society is pleased to announce that data from its vast archive of locomotive performance logs is is being published in Modern Locomotives Illustrated magazine. The articles are being written by RPS members and feature many references to the Society and its archives.

The current edition of the magazine - on sale now - focuses on the now defunct Class 24 & 25 diesel locomotives and recalls some of th most interstinmg runs ever recorded behind these loco's.

Any RPS member is invited to submit any suitable logs and an accompanying commentary for future editions of the magazine. Please contact us at press.office at railperf,.org.uk, or use the contact button on the website.

Future editions - published every two months will again feature performance input and commentary from the RPS and its archives. Next articles to feature in MLI are:

• Issue 178 - Desiro EMU stock - on sale 31 July 2009  - Now complete
• Issue 179 - The Class 40s - On sale 25 September 2009 - Now Complete
• Issue 180 - The Class 47s (part 1) - On sale 27 November 2009, contributions required no later than 1 Aug 2009
  (This issue will be covering the years up to 1985)

• Issue 181 - The Class 47s (part 2) - On sale 29 January 2010, contributions required no later than 1 Oct 2009
  (This issue will be covering the years from 1985 to the present day)

• Issue 182 - The Class 57s - On sale 28 March 2010, contributions required no later than 1 Dec 2009

• Issue 183 - British Rail Eastern Region Electric Units (covering all units to privatisation) - On sale 26 May 2010, contributions required no later than 1 Feb 2009
