Battersby Junction: The top of the milepost above bears the legend 'PIC JCN'. I.e. the milepost measures the distance from a closed station (Picton Junction) on an existing line, over a line that no longer exists!
Bitton: Midland Railway, near Bath. Trackbed here is now part of the Avon Valley Railway.
Conwy: London & North Western Railway.
Darsham: A Great Eastern Railway post on the East Suffolk line.
Didcot: Old Great Western post restored to fine condition by the Didcot Railway Centre.

Australia Half kilometre post at Wagga Wagga (PK 550.5), New South Wales
Mexican Distance Post. In Great Britain the highest numbered Milepost is 326½ at Penzance. However, in other countries much higher numbers can be noted. Post 839, admittedly in kilometres, is at El Fuerte on the Chihuahua al Pacifico line in Mexico and is the distance from the US- Mexican border. This route is one of the few in Mexico still to have a passenger service, mainly for tourists visiting the Copper Canyon area.
Totnes: Confused? 222.75 miles from Paddington.
Wimbledon: British Rail (Southern) post. Shows mileage from Waterloo and mileage from Streatham junction via Haydons Road.
Worting_Junction: The blue diamond style introduced by Railtrack Southern in early 1999 between Worting and Micheldever to help staff locate items in more remote parts. This particular example (MP 51) has since been removed, but many now exist across lines in the Hampshire area.
